Speculation Rampant Regarding Identity Of High-Profile Celebrities Portrayed in Forthcoming 'Gold Diggers' Tell-All

New York, New York (PRWeb) March 22, 2007 -- Well in advance of its April 17th release, gossip columnists, bloggers and fans have been abuzz drawing connections between the characters chronicled in Tracie Howard's upcoming fiction tell-all, "Gold Diggers: A Novel," and potential high-profile celebrity counterparts. Excerpts taken from publisher galleys and the author's blog (http://tracie-howard-musings.blogspot.com) added fuel to early speculation concerning 'A' list regulars whose activities might show up in the book.

Much of the early interest has focused on the identity of a 'down low' NBA superstar whose sexual escapades continually draw the ire of worried front-office execs. There's also the famous starlet whose benign public persona belies a calculated and 'well-slept' rise to the top of Tinsel Town's summit. Each, along with a certain cut-throat PR liaison to the stars, already has the rumour-mill between New York and Hollywood insiders working overtime.

In assessing why the book has struck such a responsive chord prior to publication, Tracie attributes it, in part to basic male/female interactions. "Men from all walks have been charmed by the allure of a 'gold diggers' advances. At the same time, all women can relate to occasions where they've assessed a foe--or friend--relative to how they register on the 'gold digger' scale. "Gold Diggers" addresses the relationship issues and situations that ensue when men and women are caught in their trap. Its message will resonate with readers regardless of their color, tastes or gender."

When asked whether some of these same character traits extend to anyone with celebrity leanings, Tracie responds philosophically, "Art always has a unique way of imitating life in literature, particularly where sex, romance and human needs are involved. When celebrities made famous by 'gold digger' personalities can create global headlines on a daily basis, such as Anna Nicole Smith and Heather Mills, I understand how easy it is to draw comparisons between the high-profile characters featured in my book."

"Gold Diggers: A Novel," is Tracie Howard's third solo release. A resident of New Jersey, she is the author of two previously well-received urban lifestyle books, "Never Kiss and Tell" and "Why Sleeping Dogs Lie". Besides her work as a fiction writer, Tracie is an accomplished journalist, traveler and curator of fine wearable art. She is reachable online via http://tracie-howard-musings.blogspot.com and www.traciehoward.com

"Gold Diggers: A Novel" is published by Random House and can be pre-ordered online at www.amazon.com and www.barnesandnobles.com, prior to its April 17th in-store date.
