JibJab Skewers Politicians and Celebrities in 2006 Year in Review Video
SANTA MONICA, CA (PRWeb) December 14, 2006 -- JibJab (www.jibjab.com), a branded digital comedy network, announced today the release of "Nuckin' Futs!," a year-in-review video recap of the madness and insanity that plagued the human race over the past twelve months. Set to the tune of Jingle Bells, " Nuckin' Futs! " features elementary school children singing about pop icons such as Britney Spears, Mel Gibson, and Lance Bass, as well as domestic and international political figures such as Dick Cheney, Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez and Saddam Hussein.
The funny video premiered on the "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on Tues., Dec. 12 and can now be seen for free on both JibJab.com and MSNVideo.com. "Nuckin' Futs!" is the eighth JibJab video to appear on the "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and the fourth of five animated shorts appearing exclusively on MSN Video.
"The web gives us the creative freedom to make videos we think are funny without having to worry about what a studio executive is going to think," said Gregg and Evan Spiridellis, co-founders of JibJab. "We are in the midst of a media revolution where mega-media conglomerates are losing their grip on the audience and new brands like JibJab are being born. It's a very exciting time to be creative entrepreneurs."
For the past seven years, JibJab has been at the forefront of creating, producing and distributing the best original and premium content for digital channels such as the Web and wireless. As traditional media continues to look for ways to adapt to changes in the entertainment industry, JibJab remains the trailblazing comedy brand in original, made-for-the-medium digital entertainment.
Together, MSN Video and JibJab.com have delivered more than 25 million showings of JibJab comedy movies. "JibJab is an innovator in this new breed of creative production studios," said Rob Bennett, general manager of Entertainment and Video Services for MSN. "We are proud to be the exclusive distributor of JibJab's consistently fun and entertaining viral videos."
The release of "Nuckin' Futs!" comes on the heels of JibJab's October release of "The Great Sketch Experiment" with renowned comedy film director John Landis, and a November collaboration with "Weird Al" Yankovic satirizing American Idol winner Taylor Hicks. Both projects can be seen for free on JibJab.com.
About JibJab Media
JibJab is a branded digital comedy network founded by brothers Gregg and Evan Spiridellis in 1999. JibJab's previous election parodies, "This Land" and "Good to be in DC!," were seen more than 80 million times during the last Presidential election, turning JibJab into an overnight, household brand, and leading Peter Jennings to name the Brothers "People of the Year." JibJab has grown considerably since the election. Today, the company is comprised of the best and the brightest artists, technologists and business people working hard to change the way comedy is created, produced and distributed - all with fewer employees than at the cafeteria of your local mega-media conglomerate.
